Shuffle Tracking
Shuffle-tracking is the following of specific cards through the shuffling process for the purpose of gaining an edge over the dealer in blackjack. The main principle behind shuffle tracking is that cards tend to "cluster" or "group" together in certain parts of a shoe due to inadequate shuffling by the dealer. By tracking these clumps you can gain a significant edge.
Strictly speaking, a deck of playing cards should be shuffled at least 20-23 times to achieve randomness, therefore a multi-deck shoe would need over 120 shuffles which it would never receive in a casino due to the time needed required and therefore the loss in earnings for the house. Since it's clear that the shuffles in most casinos is inadequate we can assume that some cards will be clumped together in certain areas of the deck. As a player you should try to track these clumps of cards and either try to "cut them in" to play or "cut them out" depending on whether they are 10 rich or not.
Note: You can't use this technique online on in casinos which use automatic shufflers, as there's just one continuous shoe.
